Pick the LP first, then the 2027 conference

A communications director at a German VC firm sent me a two-line question recently. Her investor relations team wants conferences in 2027 with exposure to LPs, other GPs and good sponsors. Is there a list?

Not a good one. So here’s mine, sorted by the kind of LP you’re after, with every 2027 date I could confirm from the organizers themselves. Europe first, then the Gulf and the US, the software platforms that now run LP events of their own, leadership summits, and the trade shows where corporate LPs walk the floor.

The LP you want picks the event

A pension fund, a family office and a fund of funds rarely sit in the same session. The organizers know it and design for it. IPEM now pitches its Cannes edition at single family offices and wealth managers. Invest Europe runs one forum for LPs across private capital and a separate one for venture. Slush picks 20 emerging managers for a dedicated LP pitch session.

So before you book anything, answer three questions. Which LP type are you raising from? Are you in market, or a year out? And is your budget a ticket, or a sponsor package?

I’m not saying the big shows don’t work. They do, for funds that arrive with their meetings already booked. Funds without a booked schedule get more from the smaller formats further down.

The big marketplaces sell volume. You buy the meetings

SuperReturn International, Berlin, 7-11 June 2027. Informa Connect reports about 7,000 attendees, more than 2,500 LPs and more than 3,000 GPs, with 170,000 meetings across the week. For a VC, the relevant part is SuperReturn Venture, 8-10 June at the Hotel Palace: 1,000 attendees, 350 LPs and 500 VCs, per the organizer’s schedule. It’s booked separately.

SuperReturn Europe, Amsterdam, 3-6 November 2026. The autumn counterpart, at Hotel Okura. Informa Connect expects 500 LPs and 750 GPs, and LPs on a fund investment team can attend free if they qualify. A Family Office Europe day runs on 5 November.

IPEM Global, Paris, September. IPEM’s flagship, and its biggest LP-GP room. The 2026 edition ran 8-10 September at the Palais des Congrès, organized around exhibitors, visitors and LPs, with digital matchmaking, according to IPEM. The Paris edition drew 6,161 participants in 2024, against 3,673 at Cannes in January 2025. IPEM hasn’t published the 2027 dates yet.

IPEM Wealth, Cannes, 2-4 February 2027. The Cannes edition is now aimed at single family offices, wealth managers and private market funds, according to IPEM. It drew 3,673 participants in January 2025. If your next close depends on family office tickets, this is the earliest room of the year.

Global Alts Europe, Paris, 27-29 April 2027. Run by iConnections at the Carrousel du Louvre. The whole format is pre-booked one-on-ones. iConnections says qualified allocators attend free if they commit to 12 meetings, managers pay by assets under management, and the room runs two LPs for every GP.

Association forums put institutional LPs on the program

Invest Europe Investors’ Forum, Geneva, 17-18 March 2027. Invest Europe’s annual conference for LPs and the managers who raise from them, per its events calendar. It covers private equity, venture and infrastructure, so venture managers share the room with buyout funds.

Invest Europe Venture Capital Forum, autumn. The venture-only sibling. The 2026 edition runs 14-15 October in Amsterdam, with roundtables for family offices and sector investors. The 2027 date isn’t out yet.

ILPA Forum EMEA, London, spring. The inverse of a marketplace. GPs apply, registered LPs rank the applications, and the top 35 GPs across three size tiers get invited. The 2026 edition ran 27-29 April at the Waldorf Hilton, with applications closing 31 January. ILPA hasn’t posted 2027 dates.

Curated series are where emerging managers get the meeting

0100 Conferences. A regional series with editions for DACH (Vienna, February), Europe (Amsterdam, April), Emerging Europe (Budapest, September) and International (Milan, October), per the organizer. The Milan edition on 28-29 October 2026 expects 700 decision-makers. No 2027 dates yet. DACH has run in Vienna in February and Europe in Amsterdam in April for three years running.

Funding Venture Conference, London, autumn. Run by Mountside Ventures. More than 100 LPs and family offices, VC participation capped at 20 funds, free for selected funds. The 2026 edition ran on 6 October. Apply through the form on their site.

Founder festivals now run LP tracks

Three of the founder festivals on Europe’s calendar now run programs built for LPs. The LP sessions sit inside a founder event, so one trip covers fundraising and dealflow.

Slush, Helsinki, 17-19 November 2026. Slush’s LP program includes an LP Reception with BACKED VC, an invite-only Investor Day, LP/VC matchmaking run by Mountside Ventures and Blue Future Partners, and Slush x RAISE, where an LP selection committee picks 20 emerging European managers (Fund I to III) to pitch. Dates for 2027 aren’t out.

Bits & Pretzels, Munich, 27-29 September 2027. Capped at 7,500 attendees, with 1,700 investors among them, per the organizer. The investor track lists an invite-only LP x Emerging Manager matchmaking event and LP roundtables for 15 people under Chatham House rules.

TechBBQ, Copenhagen, 8-9 September 2027. The LP Forum runs on Day 0, the day before the main summit: 250 participants, a Pension Summit stage with 100 pension fund representatives, and an LP dinner. GPs get in through a pitching session on Day 1.

Three countries. Three LP programs.

The two biggest founder events sit at either end of the year. VivaTech runs 16-19 June 2027 in Paris, per Team France Export, the week after SuperReturn. Web Summit runs 9-12 November 2026 in Lisbon, and its site now has a dedicated LP investors page. Neither publishes an LP count, so ask before you book.

The Gulf runs its own LP season

Between October 2026 and February 2027, the UAE and Saudi Arabia host five investor events in four months. Sovereign wealth funds and single family offices are the draw.

SuperReturn Middle East, Dubai, 13-15 October 2026. At The Ritz-Carlton DIFC. Informa Connect expects 200 LPs and 200 GPs, close to one LP per GP, and qualifying LPs attend free. The LP list names ADIA, PIF, Mubadala, IFC, AIIB and KfW Capital. The summits day includes a Fundraising Summit and a Tech, AI and VC Summit. This year’s edition is days away, so the one to plan for is 2027.

Future Investment Initiative, Riyadh, 26-29 October 2026. The 10th edition, per the FII Institute. It’s a broad investment summit, and the agenda isn’t out yet. Pipeline Road, a directory of capital-raising events, lists 500 LPs expected.

IPEM Future, Dubai, 3 November 2026. One day at the DIFC Atrium during Dubai Future Finance Week. IPEM targets VC and growth managers alongside sovereign funds, family offices and corporate VCs. A visitor pass costs €700 and includes the participant list.

Abu Dhabi Finance Week, 7-10 December 2026. Hosted by ADGM on Al Maryah Island, with 35,000 participants and 70 events expected, per Invest Abu Dhabi. Private investments are one topic among many, so plan around the side events.

SuperReturn Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, 25-26 January 2027. At The Fairmont. Informa Connect reports 300 LPs, 600 GPs and 20,000 meetings at the 2026 edition.

Two more sit outside that window. UK Private Capital runs a European Private Capital Conference in Abu Dhabi, built for European GPs meeting local LPs. The 2026 edition ran on 3 February at the Grand Hyatt. Investopia in Abu Dhabi ran 31 March to 2 April 2026. Neither has 2027 dates yet.

Two US dates for the calendar

SuperReturn North America, Hollywood, Florida, 1-3 February 2027. Informa Connect says it draws more than 250 LPs from 22 countries, with Northern Trust, MetLife Insurance Investments and AIMCo among those confirmed.

ILPA Summit, New York, November. The US version of the ILPA model, with 90 GPs invited, against 35 in London. Registered LPs pick them from applications, and each gets at least six LP meetings. The 2026 window closed on 12 June. ILPA says to check back in spring 2027 for the next one.

The software platforms now host the room

Some of the companies that sell software and services to LPs and GPs run events of their own. The meeting format comes from the product.

iConnections. A capital introduction platform that runs three Global Alts conferences in 2027, all built on pre-booked one-on-one meetings. Global Alts Miami runs 22-25 February at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where iConnections lists 1,500 allocators and 1,200 managers. Then Global Alts Europe in Paris on 27-29 April, and Global Alts New York at The Glasshouse on 8-9 June.

Carta. The fund administration and cap table company runs a Carta LP/GP Summit, a closed-door evening for LPs and GPs across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa. The 2026 edition ran in Singapore on 28 September. Carta calls it annual. Register interest on its page.

Allocate. The private investing platform for the wealth advisory channel runs Beyond Summit at The Resort at Pelican Hill, Newport Beach, in May 2027. It’s an invite-only “un-conference” of about 250 LPs, GPs and family offices, with GP-LP meetings and an LP Day reserved for Allocate’s own platform investors. The 2027 page carries two sets of dates, so confirm before booking.

With Intelligence. The S&P Global data provider runs the Women’s Private Equity Summit Europe at the Fairmont Windsor Park in September 2027, its sixth edition: 330 attendees, a mix of allocators, managers and fundraisers.

Dakota. The LP and GP database company hosts small networking evenings for its users, such as Dakota Cocktails London on 14 October 2026. Its blog also keeps one of the better allocator event calendars, October 2026 to June 2027.

Leadership summits seat GPs next to the capital

No booths, no badge scanning, and a guest list that’s reviewed. The founders, CEOs and family office principals in these rooms are dealflow today and potential LPs later.

Brilliant Minds. The Stockholm gathering now runs a “Home & Away” model: Stockholm every other year, another city in between. The 2027 edition is its first year away, in New York. Dates aren’t out. (Disclosure: I’ve worked on the Brilliant Minds program.)

Founders Forum Global, London, 8-10 June 2027. Founders Forum lists 500 attendees, including 129 VCs and 125 corporate CEOs. You register interest and the team reviews it.

Milken Institute Global Conference, Los Angeles, 2-5 May 2027. At The Beverly Hilton, per Dealroom. The Milken Institute also runs a Middle East and Africa Summit in Abu Dhabi for investors, government officials and philanthropists. The seventh edition ran 4-5 December 2025, and the next date isn’t posted.

Aspen Ideas Festival, Aspen. A week on the Aspen Institute’s campus, with more than 100 sessions. The 2026 edition ran 25 June to 1 July. The 2027 dates aren’t out.

Trade shows are where corporate LPs meet their thesis

Corporates sit on the LP side too. The GCV LP/GP Summit, run by Global Corporate Venturing, lists corporates and family-owned multinationals among its LPs, matched with emerging and established venture funds. Its 2026 edition ran in San Francisco on 23 September.

The same corporates send their strategy and venture teams to their industry’s trade show. A sector fund that walks that floor sees dealflow and prospective corporate LPs in the same aisles.

JEC Investor Day, Paris, 4 March 2027. The investor day of JEC World, the composites show at Paris Nord Villepinte. It’s built around one-to-one meetings with founders of 70 startups and is aimed at VCs, corporate investors, private equity and institutional fund managers. The 2026 edition drew Arkema, Safran and Syensqo alongside venture firms and corporate innovation funds. Full disclosure: JEC is a Sesamers client, and Sesamers co-organizes the Investor Day.

Sponsors buy visibility, selection buys meetings

Sponsors were the third thing on the list. Informa and IPEM both sell sponsorship packages, and at that scale a package is one route to a stage or a hosted dinner. It puts your name in front of every LP in the building. The meetings still have to be booked one by one.

The curated formats work the other way round. Mountside’s conference is free for the 20 funds it selects. ILPA’s LPs pick the 35 GPs they want to see. Global Alts Europe sells access by AUM and makes LPs commit to 12 meetings. The price tag sits in the selection, and the meetings come with it.

Is there a published list of all this? The closest I found is Allocator Desk’s LP conference calendar, written for allocators and heavy on US and private equity events. Most events above also have a page in the Sesamers events calendar, and we’ll add 2027 dates as organizers publish them.

Before you book, ask the organizer four things

• How many LPs came last year, by type. Pension, insurer, fund of funds, family office, corporate. A total without the split tells you very little.
• How an LP is counted. Allocators only, or anyone from an LP organization, including advisers and consultants.
• The LP-to-GP ratio. Global Alts Europe publishes 2:1. Ask everyone else for theirs.
• Whether meetings are booked before you arrive. If the answer is “the app opens a week before”, plan your own outreach six weeks out.

Then pick the event that matches the LP you’re raising from. The rest is travel.
