Investment thesis
Butterfly Ventures is a Finnish seed fund founded in 2012, with offices in Oulu, Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallinn and Copenhagen and investments across the Nordics and Baltics. It backs deep tech, hardware and hardware-interfacing software with social or environmental impact, managing 77 million euros and averaging 0.3 million euros per company. Around 80 percent of its portfolio has no revenue at entry, and the partners work directly with founders and reserve capital for follow-ons.
