The prize pool is approximately EUR 750,000, but it is made up of services and credits rather than cash, so the headline figure is not money in the bank. No equity is taken against it.
Eligibility is narrow. An entrant must be based in the EU, the UK, Switzerland or Norway, be at pre-seed or seed stage, be under three years old, and have raised no more than EUR 750k to date. All four conditions apply together.
The competition is staged at the EU-Startups Summit itself, held on 13 and 14 May 2027 in Valletta, Malta. Applications are not open yet: the organisers say the application phase starts in December 2026.
