Axeleo Capital (AXC) was founded in January 2017 by Eric Burdier and Mathieu Viallard and is headquartered in Lyon, making it one of the more prominent French VC firms based outside Paris. It closed its second early-stage B2B tech fund, AXC2, at €73M in December 2023, investing initial tickets of €200k to €2M at pre-seed and seed with roughly half the fund reserved for Series A and B follow-ons. Sectors include B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, AI, data infrastructure and fintech, plus a separate proptech/contech strategy; the firm also runs Cyber Booster, a cybersecurity startup studio. Portfolio companies include Kestra, Trustpair, Formance, 365Talents, Sopht and Joko, with exits including Alsid (Tenable), Cloudskiff (Snyk) and Hyperlex (DiliTrust).
