Cherry Ventures

Berlin, Germany · Founded 2012

Investment thesis

Cherry Ventures is a European venture capital firm working from Berlin, London and Stockholm. It backs founders across AI, energy, aerospace, cybersecurity, fintech, commerce software, gaming, space and developer tools, and states plainly that it invests in founders rather than companies. Its partners are former operators from companies including Zalando and Spotify, and they work closely with teams from the first rounds onward.

Cherry Ventures was started in 2012 by Filip Dames and Christian Meermann as an angel fund and now invests across Europe from offices in Berlin, London and Stockholm. It leads pre-seed and seed rounds, typically writing €2-7M cheques and doing roughly 10-12 seed investments a year across B2B software, fintech, industrials, healthtech, climate tech and consumer. In February 2025 the firm announced $500M raised across a fifth early-stage fund and a separate opportunity fund for Series B and beyond. Portfolio companies include Flink, Forto, AMBOSS, Planet A Foods and The Exploration Company. More than half of each fund is reserved for follow-on financings.
