Investment thesis
Cottonwood Technology Fund invests in patent-based hard science and deep tech startups, writing early-stage tickets of roughly $1M to $3M and growth-stage tickets of $5M to $25M. Its focus covers photonics, optics, micro- and nanoelectronics, advanced materials, nanotechnology, health sciences, climate tech, sensors, robotics and advanced manufacturing, and it explicitly avoids software, AI, apps and crypto. It invests in the southwestern United States and northern Europe.
