Investment thesis
Franklin Templeton invests in private technology companies through Franklin Venture Partners, its Silicon Valley-based venture arm. The team backs mid to late-stage growth companies approaching an IPO, concentrating on enterprise, industrial, space and defence technology, and has deployed more than $3 billion across 95 companies since 2014. It runs concentrated portfolios and combines public and private market research from the wider asset manager, which oversees over $1.6 trillion. The venture team works from San Mateo, California.
