Seedcamp was founded in London in 2007 and writes first institutional cheques into pre-seed and seed companies, typically before product, revenue or traction. In June 2026 it announced $320M across Seedcamp VII ($220M, early stage) and Seedcamp Select ($100M, Series B and later), taking assets under management above $1bn. The firm says it is concentrating on AI intersecting with science and the physical world, including robotics, deep tech and space manufacturing, and avoids capital-intensive models such as mobility and marketplaces. It has backed more than 550 companies, including Revolut, Wise, UiPath, Synthesia and Pleo, and has added offices in New York and Miami alongside London.
Investment thesis
Seedcamp backs pre-seed and seed-stage technology companies across Europe, writing first cheques of roughly $350,000 to $1 million. It is broadly sector-agnostic within software, with concentrations in artificial intelligence, fintech, cybersecurity, healthtech and open-source infrastructure. Founded in 2007 and based in London, it operates as a networked platform, connecting founders to later-stage investors, operators and alumni companies, and has pushed standardisation in European early-stage dealmaking, including a common term sheet.
