Investment thesis

Supernova Invest is the deep tech venture platform created in 2017 out of CEA Investissement, the technology-transfer arm of France's atomic and alternative energies commission, in partnership with Amundi and the Credit Agricole group. That origin gives it unusually early sight of laboratory spin-outs from Grenoble and the wider French public research base. It manages more than 800 million euros across eight funds, ranging from Supernova Innovation 3, a 100 million euro seed vehicle writing 1 to 3 million euro first cheques into around twenty European deep tech companies, to Ambition Industrie, a 145 million euro late-stage fund investing 8 to 30 million euros in companies entering industrialisation. The firm invests across industrial technologies, healthcare, digital technologies and cleantech, mainly in France and the more structured European deep tech ecosystems, from offices in Paris and Grenoble. Its LPs, co-investors and strategic partners include the CEA, Bpifrance, Credit Agricole, Vinci, Michelin, bioMerieux, Orano and Groupe SEB. It describes its capital as patient, ties its ESG commitments to the UN 2030 goals and argues that deep tech start-ups are impact-by-design.
