The nova Award is DMEA's prize for digital health startups, submitted through the bvitg Service GmbH portal and judged at the trade fair, which moves to Munich for 2027.

It is open to digital health startups founded no more than five years before DMEA. Entries may be written in German or English, but all pitches at the event must be delivered in English, and entering costs nothing.

Shortlisted startups pitch live at DMEA on 13 and 14 April 2027, with the final and the award ceremony on 15 April. The winner takes a prize package worth EUR 10,000 in total, made up of EUR 3,000 in cash and a media package worth EUR 7,000. No equity is taken. Applications for the 2027 award run from mid-December 2026 to mid-January 2027, with jury review from mid-January to mid-February 2027.
