The Call for Makers is Maker Faire Rome's open call for exhibitors at the fair, held at Gazometro Ostiense.

It is aimed at inventors, startups, makers and research teams working in technology and innovation (3D printing, AI, IoT, robotics), environmental sustainability (agritech, circular economy), science and health, creativity and culture, or education and society. Prototypes in development, incomplete demos and installations in testing are accepted provided they can be presented interactively.

Selected participants receive a fully equipped exhibition space free of charge, including basic set-up, electricity and Wi-Fi, with no participation fee; travel and accommodation remain at the participant's expense. No equity is taken. The 2026 call closed on 30 June 2026, though projects can still be submitted to a waiting list; the fair runs 23-25 October 2026 and no 2027 call has been published.
