Goodweek, the Strasbourg-born AI manager for small and mid-sized companies, has raised $12 million (about €10.7 million) in a round led by Spain’s Adara Ventures, announced on 15 October 2026, to accelerate sales and push into Latin America and Asia.

Your team is already using AI at work – the honest question is who is managing it. Mostly, nobody. That uncomfortable truth is exactly what this round is priced on, and it is good news for anyone who believes Europe’s software story is bigger than model-building. Below, I lay out the round, the company behind it, and the market it is quietly claiming.

Eight funds and Bpifrance for a one-year-old

The facts first. Goodweek announced a $12 million round on 15 October 2026, led by Adara Ventures, the Spanish fund, with Anamcara Capital, BGV, BY Venture Partners, CentraleSupelec Venture, FJ Labs, Interlace Ventures and True Ventures participating, and Bpifrance in support. The company gives the round no stage label; at this size and age, it sits where Europe’s boldest early rounds now live.

The money has a destination. In the company’s own words, the round “is meant to accelerate sales and open new markets, notably in Latin America and Asia”. And the lead’s conviction is personal: “For us, this investment is also a reunion. We backed Nicolas at Scalefast and have seen first-hand how he executes,” says Adara founding partner Nico Goulet in the announcement.

A reunion, then – a syndicate of eight funds plus France’s public bank, for a company that turned one just days before the announcement.

One governed space for Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Mistral

Goodweek calls itself an AI Manager for SMBs: one platform where a company runs its AI models, data, users, access and spend. It brings Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Mistral onto a single governed surface; each team gets its own space, company data stays isolated and out of training sets, and leaders finally see who uses which tools and what they cost. The company advertises SOC 2 certification and full data isolation on its own site – the compliance reflexes you would expect from a product sold to the cautious.

The trajectory is the striking part. Founded in Strasbourg and passed through the SEMIA incubator and the 21st by CentraleSupelec accelerator, with access to Station F, Goodweek says it now serves nearly 150 customers across France, Spain, the UK, the Benelux and North America, with 50 people in three countries – all inside its first year (company announcement, 15 October 2026).

The founders are the pattern-match. CEO Guillaume Nominé sold his collaboration startup Atolia to JustCall in 2022; co-founder Nicolas Stehle sold Scalefast the same year. “AI should be an ally for every employee – not a risk for the company,” Nominé says in the announcement. Second-time founders move at a different speed, and the cap table shows investors know it.

Shadow AI is a $1.39bn market growing at 35.6% a year

So why do eight funds crowd into a one-year-old? Because the problem it manages is compounding. MarketsandMarkets sized the shadow AI risk and governance market at $1.39bn in 2026, reaching $8.64bn by 2032 – a 35.6% CAGR (report published September 2026). The same report already names three European vendors in the category: Holistic AI in London, NeuralTrust in Barcelona and Saidot in Helsinki. The governance layer is not a niche; it is a race, and we are in it.

For scale, put the round next to the week’s other European deals in our records: Duvo’s $32M Series A led by Balderton for its enterprise execution OS, and Causa Prima’s $20M seed led by Base10 for AI agents that settle B2B invoices. Three rounds, one thesis family: the AI tools are plentiful; the control layer is scarce.

The control layer is becoming the deal

What we are seeing is a shift in where European AI money lands. A year ago the cheque chased model-builders; this month’s rounds chase the companies that make AI governable inside ordinary businesses. The good news is that this is a game Europe can win on home advantage: GDPR instincts, the EU AI Act timetable, and a fabric of SMBs – 99% of all EU businesses, by the European Commission’s own count – that will never each hire a chief AI officer.

Three things are worth watching from here. Whether Adara’s cross-border lead – a Spanish fund into a Strasbourg-born company, with US investors FJ Labs and True Ventures alongside – becomes the normal shape of a French early round. Whether SMB-focused AI management holds its ground once the hyperscalers bundle admin consoles into their suites. And whether the repeat-founder density in this syndicate keeps compressing the distance between incorporation and an international round.

A year from a Strasbourg incubator to a $12 million round with Madrid leading and Bpifrance in support: that is not an outlier anymore, it is the pattern taking shape. We log every one of these in our fundraising data – keep an eye on who manages the machines!
