Grosvenor Food & AgTech

London, United Kingdom · Founded 2012

Investment thesis

Grosvenor Food & AgTech is the food and agriculture technology investment arm of Grosvenor, investing in companies reshaping how food is produced, distributed and consumed. Its themes include sustainable protein production, sustainable packaging, fertiliser technology and agricultural banking. It acts as lead investor and takes engaged board seats across a portfolio of more than twenty companies, treating food as a system linked to health, ecosystems and climate.

Grosvenor Food & AgTech is the food and agriculture investing business of Grosvenor, the property and investment group owned by the Grosvenor Estate (the Duke of Westminster’s family holdings). It was created in 2012 as Wheatsheaf to diversify the estate beyond property and rebranded to Grosvenor Food & AgTech in January 2022, when Grosvenor said it would deploy significant new capital into the business. The team invests internationally in companies reshaping how food is produced, distributed and consumed, covering sustainable protein, agricultural technology, sustainable packaging, fertiliser and agricultural finance. It manages a portfolio of more than 20 companies, including Every, TemperPack, Ostara and Oxbury Bank, and describes itself as one of the longest-established investment teams in the sector.
