Lyon-based Reecall has raised €3.5M in a round led by Founders Future, joined by Holnest, Mesh, returning investor Evolem and business angels including BlaBlaCar co-founder Francis Nappez, to industrialise white-label voice AI for the software vendors that want to ship it under their own brand.

Announced on 24 September 2026, the round is small next to this week’s medtech cheques. It might be the more telling one. Below, I lay out why a €3.5M ticket in Lyon says as much about where the agent wave is heading as the nine-figure rounds do.

A Lyon round with Aulas money at the table

Founders Future, the Paris-based venture firm, leads the €3.5M round. Alongside it: Holnest, the family office of former Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas; Mesh, the seed fund launched by CCI Lyon Métropole Saint-Étienne Roanne; and Evolem, the Lyon family office that backed the company in 2022 and returns here. Business angels complete the table, among them Francis Nappez, co-founder of BlaBlaCar, who takes a board seat, and Sébastien Lucas of Choose.

The money goes where you would expect for a company switching gears: strengthening the platform, recruiting, and accelerating deployment across Europe.

Thirty million calls, then the pivot

Founded in 2020 by Maxime Trouché and Raphaël Szymocha, Reecall spent its first years selling conversational AI to call centres and customer service teams – the classic SaaS route. More than 30 million calls ran through the product in production. It worked, customers were satisfied, and the founders questioned it anyway: per the announcement, the real bottleneck was that nobody knew how to industrialise voice AI across large client bases.

So in 2025 the company pivoted. Rather than selling voice agents to end customers, Reecall now sells the factory: a white-label platform that lets software vendors design and deploy voice AI under their own brand. Alcatel-Lucent, Simplify and construction software maker Obat are among the first takers, with deployments across 14 industry verticals. Revenue has multiplied by four in the eight months since the switch – from an undisclosed base, admittedly, but the direction is the point.

The September 2022 round, backed by Evolem, Newfund and Kima Ventures, financed the first chapter. This one finances the rewrite.

A voice agent market compounding at 42%

The segment Reecall sells into is one of the steepest curves in software right now: voice AI agents were a USD 2.32bn market in 2025 and are headed for USD 27.45bn by 2032, a 42% CAGR – MarketsandMarkets, 2026. Growth like that does not reward whoever builds the best single agent; it rewards whoever makes the technology deployable a thousand times over.

For scale against our own records: Zeliq raised €7M this same week to launch an AI sales agent, and Primo took €6.9M to send AI agents into corporate IT. Three French agent rounds inside four days – that is not a coincidence, it is a market forming in real time. You can track them all on our fundraising data page.

Selling the factory, not the agent

So what did Reecall see that hundreds of voice agent startups have not? That the branded agent layer is crowding fast, and the durable value may sit one level down. Founders Future’s thesis, stated with the round, is that within three years most enterprise software will embed a conversational layer – and that few vendors will build it alone. If that holds, the winners of the agent era will include companies whose names end users never see.

What we are seeing is also a geography story. The good news is the capital table tells it on its own: Holnest and Mesh are Lyon money backing a Lyon company, alongside a Paris lead. France’s second cities are learning to fund their own, and a founder in Lyon no longer needs to move to raise.

Watch whether the white-label layer holds its margin as the model providers push down into it. And watch Lyon – between its family offices and its CCI seed fund, the city is quietly assembling its own stack. Let’s see who builds on it next.
