Investment thesis

2150 is a venture capital firm working from London, Berlin, Copenhagen and Miami that invests in energy, industry, materials and the built environment. Its themes include circular manufacturing, decarbonising energy-intensive plants, sustainable metals, electric transport, decentralised energy assets and building efficiency. Its partners come from operating backgrounds and invest where technical conviction meets a large market, targeting both returns and measurable real-world outcomes.

2150 was founded in 2019 and closed its €210M Fund II in January 2026, lifting assets under management to about €500M. It invests in companies decarbonising cities and industry, spanning energy, industrial decarbonisation, advanced manufacturing, cooling, water, lower-carbon cement, circularity and mobility. Co-founder Christian Hernandez has said the firm invests from Series A and beyond and requires a deployed product rather than only revenue. Its roughly 27-29 portfolio companies report over €844M in combined annual revenue and around 4,500 employees, and include 1Komma5°, Mission Zero Technologies, Blue Frontier, Metycle, Ember and Vammo. The team works from London, Berlin and Copenhagen, with investments in Europe and North America.
