Berlin-based Conlio has raised €6.4 million in a round led by Piton Capital to automate how road-freight forwarders check CMR waybills, proofs of delivery and carrier invoices.
“Logistics is one of the world’s largest industries, and digitization has already transformed large parts of it,” says Dr. Claudio Consul, Conlio’s founder and CEO. His company is betting that the paper which follows every truck is one of the parts still waiting.

Piton Capital leads €6.4 million for Conlio
Conlio announced the round on November 3, 2026, reported the same day by Startup Rise, Startbase and Trending Topics. Piton Capital led it. Three new investors joined: Haufe Group Ventures; WaVe-X, the venture arm of the WALTER GROUP; and F-LOG Ventures, the investment arm of FIEGE. Existing investors System. One, Puzzle Ventures, Booom Ventures and Yellow also took part.
The company did not disclose the stage. According to Startbase, the money goes to platform development, hiring and expansion in Europe.
A former sennder product lead goes after the CMR pile
Consul runs Conlio, the Berlin freight-document startup, as CEO. Startbase lists him as a former SVP Product at sennder, and Startup Rise dates the company to 2023.
The platform reads road-freight documents (CMR waybills, proofs of delivery, carrier invoices), checks them against the transport order and converts them into structured data. The longer plan is a financial processing platform covering invoice verification, payment authorization and reconciliation. Its customers are forwarders in Germany, the UK, Spain and Denmark.
Conlio says it automates more than 90 percent of document verifications and can lift a forwarder’s EBIT by up to 30 percent. Both are the company’s own claims, and neither has been independently verified.
Piton Capital’s Michael Macklin pointed to usage. “The product is already embedded in customers’ daily operations,” he said.
Freight audit and payment grows by $651.2 million to 2030
Technavio, in a report published through ResearchAndMarkets in February 2026, forecasts the freight audit and payment market to grow by $651.2 million between 2025 and 2030, an 11.2 percent CAGR. The source gives the increment and the growth rate. It publishes no base figure, so the total size of the market stays an open number in this source.
That segment is also narrower than Conlio’s ambition. Freight audit and payment centers on checking carrier bills and paying them. Conlio starts earlier, at the waybill and the proof of delivery, and wants to finish at reconciliation. The forecast puts a growth rate on the step where money changes hands, and that is where Conlio says it is heading.
Three trade and transport software rounds in four weeks
In our records at Sesamers, Conlio is the third round in four weeks for software that sits on transactions between companies in trade and transport. On October 6, 2026, Procuros raised a €20 million Series A for autonomous B2B trade, and Wiremind raised €35 million for revenue management software in transport. Add Conlio and the three total €61.4 million.
Conlio is the smallest of the three and the closest to the paper. Procuros works on how companies trade with each other, Wiremind on how transport gets priced. Conlio checks whether a delivered load matches what was ordered and what was billed.
We built a single market for goods, and the proof that a load arrived is still a document someone has to read. All three new investors are corporate venture arms: Haufe Group Ventures, WaVe-X for the WALTER GROUP and F-LOG Ventures for FIEGE. “Conlio turns unstructured freight documents into verified transaction data,” said Thomas Muscher, managing director of WaVe-X.
The long-term plan is a forwarder in Spain closing the month on delivery data verified the day each truck unloads, and this round funds its test across more European markets. Our European fundraising data logs the rest of the week’s deals, including Green Voltis.
Payment authorization is the milestone that counts
So who in Europe ends up owning the moment a verified document releases a payment to a carrier?
Conlio has named that moment as its goal. The 90 percent automation figure and the 30 percent EBIT claim will carry more weight once a customer or an auditor publishes its own number next to them. Payment authorization running on live customer volumes is the proof point for this company, and for every European team working on the money side of freight.
The payment step is where this company will be judged. Let’s build it here in Europe!
