Otitest is developing a non-invasive device that families can use at home to check children for ear infections (otitis) early. It combines a digital otoscope and a thermometer, and uses light, fibre optics, artificial intelligence and colour analysis to assess the ear.
The device is aimed at parents, paediatricians, telemedicine providers and daycare centres, to support early triage and avoid unnecessary emergency visits. Otitest is based in Matosinhos, near Porto, Portugal.
