Investment thesis

Capnamic is a Cologne-based venture capital firm investing at pre-seed, seed and Series A in technology companies from the German-speaking market. It backs teams before product or revenue exist, including at pre-product and MVP stage, and describes its job as investing in tech made in Germany and helping it travel. Alongside capital it contributes network, operating experience and hands-on guidance.

Capnamic was founded in 2013 and invests from Cologne, Berlin and Munich, with around €350M under management. Its third fund closed at €190M in 2022 and focuses on pre-seed, seed and Series A rounds in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, with occasional investments outside the region. LPs include institutional investors, corporates such as Evonik, Fressnapf and Sparkassen Finanzgruppe, and entrepreneurs including Jörg Gerbig (Lieferando) and Dirk Graber (Mister Spex). Portfolio and exits include LeanIX, Staffbase, Adjust, parcelLab, Capmo, Workpath and Cedalo.
