A founder looking at the open call should read it closely. The call that closed on 10 February 2026 was addressed to delivery partners bidding to run the programme, not to startups wanting a place on it, and no startup cohort call has been published since.

When the accelerator does run, it takes urban mobility companies and only those, selecting a cohort from across Europe rather than from a single city.

The money is blended finance rather than a grant, and equity is taken for it. That puts the programme closer to a funding round with support attached than to a grant scheme, and it should be weighed on those terms.

Urban mobility companies are the sole focus of this pan-European EIT accelerator, which selects cohorts from across the continent rather than from a single city. Rather than a grant, participants receive blended finance investment, and equity is taken in exchange. Founders should therefore weigh it as an investment round with programme support attached rather than as a grant-style scheme.
