The Startup Area is the young-company zone at Smart Country Convention, the Berlin fair for public-sector digitalisation run by Bitkom and Messe Berlin.
It admits companies founded on or after 1 January 2020 with innovative solutions for the digitalisation of the public sector, covering smart city, GovTech, smart infrastructure and digital identity.
The basic EUR 2,500 package buys a ready-to-use 3 sqm booth with lockable counter, power and WiFi, company name signage, access to the startup networking area, five visitor tickets and two exhibitor passes, plus a logo listing on the website and event app; a EUR 3,000 package adds a pitch slot on the Startup Stage. Prices exclude VAT and no equity is taken. Booths for the convention on 13-15 October 2026 at Messe Berlin are booked directly with Bitkom and Messe Berlin, with no published deadline; applications for the separate Smart Country Startup Award 2026 have closed.
