North Star Pitch is the pitch competition at TechBBQ in Copenhagen. It takes ten companies based in Europe, less than five years old, independent rather than a subsidiary, with a launched MVP and a live website, offering either a unique software solution or a connected hardware device.
Each pitches for three minutes on stage in front of investors, media and partners, with 2.5 minutes of jury questions. Selected finalists get mandatory pitch training and their travel to Copenhagen is covered. The winner is named North Star of the year and gains visibility and investor connections; past winners report follow-up investor meetings and international exposure. The programme takes no equity.
TechBBQ 2026 ran 26-27 August in Copenhagen. In the 2025 cycle applications opened on 2 April, finalists were notified by the end of May and the final pitch was held on 28 August; no 2027 call has been published yet.
