Entry is closed to anyone not already exhibiting at VivaTech, and two further tests apply on top of that: fewer than 100 employees, and founded in 2020 or later.

One winner is chosen from that field, and the prize is position rather than money. It is a spot in the VivaTech Startup Corner and an invitation to TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200, which is a route onto a second stage rather than a cash award. Nothing is taken in return.

The 2026 round closed on 18 May 2026. The cycle has historically launched around March, so a 2027 call would be expected in the spring.

VivaTech’s headline award recognises a single innovation from among the startups exhibiting at its Paris show. Entry is limited to exhibiting companies with fewer than 100 employees, founded in 2020 or later. The winner receives a spot in the VivaTech Startup Corner and an invitation to TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200, with no equity taken in exchange for either.
